This week was pretty hectic for some odd reason, even though I thought it was going to be a little easier than last week.
Felden- We learned more about the whole skeleton, which is really super weird if you think about it. Can you honestly sit there and tell me you feel your bones? Basically Mondays class we laid on mats and people felt our bones. Super weird.
On Wed we did probably what was my favorite thing of any class. We tool 40 min to walk in "slow motion" in a park. Really fun, really intriguing, really eye opening on the body.
Acting- We only had one 3 hour session this week, where we did our monologues. I'm doing the first monologue from Dog Sees God, and I'm going to work extra hard this week with a classmate to get it more "real". Super excited to work on text.
Yoga- I'm really starting to look forward to this class, learning more forms, and all that jazz.
Vocal- Starting to work with text now, and how to combine that with our exercises.
Improv- I think I'm really getting an Improv reboot, which I'm thrilled to do. Its funny that I have yet to see an Improv show, and I've been here a month.
Seminar- Started with the Greek Tragedies from Aeschylus...still a fun class.
Aerials- Sweet God, Knotted Silks kicked my ass. Video and Pictures to come.
MFA workshop- Working with David from Looking Glass, learning how to create new pieces of theater!
Shows that I saw this week-
I saw Good People at Steppenwolf this Saturday, fucking amazing. This would have been the first High Caliber play that I've seen. Very good show, and I highly suggest going and seeing it.

One Month in Chicago
Last week was intense! We had a master class for a full week with the Tectonic Theater Company (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tectonic_Theater_Project) which was really really awesome and an awesome experience. We learned about theatrical elements, and how to incorporate that with text to make new theater. Really fun and I really enjoyed it.
MFA workshop Aerial Day 2- Spanish Web
Fend- Learned about joints, and how they work, and how to use them. (I know that my short reviews don't really tell too much about the class..but some of these classes are incredibly hard to explain). Today (Monday 10/1) We learned more about bones structure, how they feel.
Acting- This week we finally start on monologue work! Excited to work.
Yoga- I'm really starting to enjoy this class..but 45 min into it..it is the bain of my existence.
Voice- Another hard class to explain..but today we started dropping actual words into our process..learning a lot about the breath.
Improv- Learning a ton about scene dynamics.

I loved this! It was incredibly fun, and although it took me a while I got most of the exercises/tricks/movements. annnnd I have photos!
Show I saw
I also saw DePauls Spring Awakening, and Chicagos longest running show "too much light makes the baby go blind. I'm sure you guys know about Spring Awakening, musical, edgy, great music. Too much light is sooo cool. Its basically 30 plays in 60 min, very fast paced, very funny, very...just fun! I really enjoyed it.
